April 2016 – Thirteen Reasons Why

thirteen reasons why
Written by Jay Asher

Thirteen Reasons Why is a highly acclaimed young adult novel. The book revolves around Clay Jensen. He receives a package which contains tapes recorded by a fellow student Hannah Baker, who committed suicide. Hannah uses the tapes to tell Clay why he and twelve other students are part of the thirteen reasons why she killed herself.

Normally I’m not into YA novels because they’re so cliché. They always contain such superficial love plots, that I’ve never bothered to read them. This book sounded different though because it deals with an issue that is so relevant to today. I hope it’s meaningful and well written.
