Nice to meet you!

I’m a homeschooler, teenager, baker, and bibliophile. I’ve never been a particularly good writer, but I do enjoy writing. When I started reading blogs, I knew that blogging was the medium through which I wished to express my thoughts and ideas.

You’re probably wondering why I named my blog Mismatched Socks. Well, after I decided to start a blog, I couldn’t choose a subject or two to stick with. Because I wanted to share a little bit of everything, I named my little corner of the internet Mismatched Socks.

My writing is a patchwork of random thoughts. I write about books and  homeschool, and share poetry and recipes. Occasionally  I also indulge in a rant. Mismatched, but still (in my opinion) connected. And Socks is a play on the Spanish phrase “eso sí que es,” which can be translated as “that really is” or “it is what it is.” I love puns! Wearing mismatched socks adds a little joy to my day.

I truly enjoy knowing what you lovely readers are thinking while reading the blog. So please, comment liberally!

    1. I love your blog too! I really liked “Five Things Multicultural Kids Can Relate To” and “7 Shakespearian Boyfriends.” Now I really want to read “As You Like It.” I can’t wait to see more of your writing! 🙂

      1. Thank you, that’s so sweet! As for Romeo and Juliet… I like it OK. I think Mercutio is an awesome character, and I think it’s cool how Shakespeare blurs the lines between tragedy and comedy. I also like the theme of losing something while trying to gain something you can’t have, if that makes sense. It’s just not my favorite play. 🙂 What do you think about Romeo and Juliet?

        And you should TOTALLY read “As You Like It.” It’s my all-time favorite Shakespeare play and I love all the characters to bits. It’s also surprisingly easy to read and the puns are frequent and glorious.

        1. It’s also my least favorite. I read Hamlet first and after that…just ugh. Sorry Shakespeare! I’m going to read Macbeth soon, so maybe I’ll read As You Like It next. I do love good puns. My TBR just got longer!!!
